Villas Indah Manis and Bulan Madu form a hillside sanctuary in Uluwatu Pecatu on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, home to many of the island’s best beaches. Each with its own swimming pool set in immaculate and generous landscaped gardens, bordered by a tree-lined valley, and with views of the ocean, the two villas make a great choice for big families or large group of friends.
Villa Indah Manis is a glamorous five-bedroom villa with an abundance of facilities for all ages, including a spa, jacuzzi, fitness room, petanque court, pool table and games room with a home theatre. The villa comfortably sleeps ten adults and up to four children in a series of charming pavilions set within the gardens.
Tucked to one side of Villa Indah Manis and accessed through a traditional Balinese gateway, Villa Bulan Madu is a blissful one-bedroomed hideaway that will delight all romantic couples – be they honeymooners or otherwise. As well as a six-metre private swimming pool, this tranquil, self-contained villa features a semi-alfresco lounge, massive open-air bathroom and a dreamy bedchamber.
Both villas are attended by a full complement of professional and discreet staff, including a friendly manager and talented chef, who will cook, clean and pamper their guests with five-star service.
The Indah Manis complex offers six luxurious bedrooms across two self-contained villas, one of which is a romantic one-bedroom hideaway. In total, the complex can sleep up to 12 adults and four children, and comprises two swimming pools, a gym, a spa and an air-conditioned media room. The villas connect via a garden gate and this setup suits groups of friends as well as families travelling with independent couples.
PROPERTY AREA –
Location –
The Indah Manis Complex is located far from the madding crowd, a couple of kilometres from the ocean in a rural area of Bali’s beautiful and rugged Bukit Peninsula. Amenities within walking distance of the villas are few; limited to the tiny village of Pecatu, thus the services of a car and driver are essential for guests wishing to explore. Some of Bali’s best beaches are easily reached by car, as are some great restaurants, cultural activities, shops, cafes and golf courses.

Living Areas
Indoor living
Blessed with sea views over the treetops, the semi-open-air living and dining pavilion is the social heart of Villa Indah Manis. A place to congregate in fan-cooled comfort enhanced by fresh breeze drifting in through the room’s open front, which leads out onto the pool deck. This large pavilion, with its soaring bamboo-lined roof, is flanked by a fish-filled lily pond and serenaded by the sound of bubbling water. A dining table for 10 lies at one end, while at the other guests can relax on sofas and lazy chairs. After dark, the pavilion takes on a different persona, softly lit with two impressive wrought iron chandeliers and surrounded by the mellow glow of garden lamps, its glamour enhanced by the distant lights of Kuta and Seminyak twinkling across the ocean.Below the living pavilion and pool deck, the media room is a cosy, air-conditioned den, decorated in warm deep orange tones, harmonised with rich silk cushions. Families can get together here, sink into the comfortable sofa and watch TV or choose from a wide variety of movies on the Movie Box or from a library of DVDs. Surround-sound completes the home theatre experience. An alternative option is to settle down for an evening of board games, selected from the big stack on the shelf unit; there’s even a Mah Jong set.
Outdoor living
Apart from the beautifully landscaped gardens most of Indah Manis’s outdoor activity takes place around the main living pavilion, where a row of sun loungers are arranged on the deck to one side of the pool, and a thatched cabana bar and alfresco dining table at the other. The lighting here at night is stupendous and is guaranteed to get the party started.
Downstairs below the pool deck is the open-sided games room with pool table and darts board, the spa and gym, and a petanque court.
Bedrooms
Kamboja master bedroom
The Kamboja suite, with its royal décor and wide hilltop views, takes pride of place at Indah Manis. This romantic bedroom is named after the fragrant frangipani flower and is distinguished by a royal red entranceway, off which is a bold purple and gold-trimmed bedchamber, a luxurious dressing area and an ensuite bathroom where guests can soak in a petal-filled bathtub under the gaze of a benevolent goddess in a private garden courtyard. Below a soaring roof, the bedroom is furnished with a small desk, a satellite TV and a canopied king-size bed dressed in soft white linen and accessorised with richly embroidered cushions and trim. Making the most of the glorious views, wide sliding glass doors open onto a stone terrace furnished with comfortable all-weather armchairs and a side table.
Jempiring guestroom
Named after the sweet-scented gardenia flower, the air-conditioned Jempiring room beckons its guests across a lily pond before welcoming them with a chartreuse-green theme and plenty of space. Furnished with twin beds that convert to a queen-sized bed, together with two sofas that can be made up as single beds, this room is perfect for a group of up to four kids or a couple with two young children. All age groups will love the ensuite garden bathroom, which is fitted with twin washbasins and a rain shower and features a stunningly lit Balinese statue framed within a glassless window.
Alamanda guestroom and Melati annex
Alamanda is a trumpet-shaped flowering climber, and this bright guest room of the same name, with its king-size bed and cosy annex, is perfect for either a couple looking for a little extra living space or for a family. The orange-toned Melati (jasmine) annex serves a dual purpose as either a private sitting room or as a kids’ bedroom, sleeping up to two children on the two sofas, which convert to twins or a double bed. The two rooms share a bathroom.
Cempaka guestroom
Cempaka (also meaning Frangipani) is the only upstairs suite at the villa, and has extraordinary views from its breezy covered terrace, which is furnished with a comfortable daybed and a gracious wooden statue. In the bedroom, guests will just melt into the ambiance of the rich chocolate-accented décor, packaged in glass, teak, and coffee-coloured marble. Here, the king-size bed is positioned to enjoy the views through glass doors that open widely onto the terrace. The room is equipped with a satellite TV and has an ensuite bathroom enclosed within slatted timber walls and filtted with a refreshing rain shower.
Lotus guestroom
Stairs at the side of the living pavilion lead down to Indah Manis’ ‘fun zone’ where, alongside the spa, fitness and games rooms, lies the Lotus guestroom. Older kids, in particular, will love having this area of the villa to themselves. With bright yellow and lavender walls, large twin beds, and a wall of glass doors to the front opening onto a furnished terrace complete with a large jacuzzi, the Lotus room makes a wonderful hideaway.
About Villa Bulan Madu
Welcome to Bulan Madu, one of Bali’s most romantic one-bedroom villas, built with privacy, seclusion and comfort in mind. With a name that translates as ‘honeymoon’, what place could be dreamier than this for couples looking to reconnect?
In choosing the villa’s location and design, we pulled out all the stops while assuring you of the first class service and amenities you expect from a five-star property. Our staff is on hand to cook for you when needed and tidy up after you, but they are also masters of discretion thus allowing you to be as free as you like. Do not worry about prying eyes, as your privacy is assured at this hilltop perch, apart from the occasional seabird flying by.
The bedroom opens onto a private pool and gardens. Here, a king-size bed entices with sheer green and gold drapes. Stepping out of the bedroom over stones bridging a fishpond, you enter the open-sided bathroom, vast in its scope and stunning in its simplicity, with a sunken, petal-filled soaking tub, washbasin and rain shower.
A simple living area offers respite from the sun, while a generous lawn and twin sun loungers sit shaded by frangipani trees next to the swimming pool. Take a dip, rest against the infinity edge, and look across the treetops towards the sunset and the Indian Ocean. If you tire of all this, the soft-cushioned balé bengong (daydreaming pavilion) in the garden is the ideal place to contentedly doze the afternoon away.
Bulan Madu can be rented independently or in conjunction with the five-bedroom Villa Indah Manis next door.
Villa Layout
Bulan Madu has its own ornate Balinese entranceway and can also be accessed via a door connecting to its neighbour, Villa Indah Manis. The villa comprises an air-conditioned bedroom and an open-sided fan-cooled lounge. Steps descend into a mature landscaped garden, where a 6m x 4m infinity pool overlooks the forested hillside and out to sea and a balé bengong pavilion awaits.
Living Areas
The lounge space is open to the back and front, and has magnificent views out over the ocean; it is furnished with three circular armchairs and equipped with a mini bar and iPod docking station. The dining table normally resides on the pool terrace but can easily be moved into the living area should the weather be inclement.
Beyond the living pavilion, a 6m x 4m infinity pool presides over the garden with spectacular views of the neighbouring forest and out to sea. Relaxation comes in the form of sunloungers, a balé bengong pavilion and a table for alfresco dining on the pool terrace – all surrounded by manicured lawns and shaded by frangipani flowers and tall trees.
Bedrooms
In Bulan Madu’s air-conditioned and fan-cooled bedroom a king-size bed is swathed in golden and green fabric below high, thatched ceilings. The regal semi-open-air (but very private) ensuite bathroom is crafted in cream-coloured stone, featuring a sunken two-person tub and a rain shower, bordered by fishponds, water features and garden views.
