<< The Karma Resorts Green Project >>

Karma Kandara has decided to combine luxury with the principle of eco-sustainability. di Mare has always offered dishes served with seasonality ingredients and we have promoted the no-print email for quite some time now.
We recently reviewed our use of plastic and were surprised to see these results:
• 174 190 pieces of plastic bags are used annually that are not recyclable.
• 43 935 plastic bottles of shampoo/conditioner/lotion are used annually that are not recyclable.
• 131 309 plastic bottles of water are consumed from bottles that are not recyclable.

Our goal is to minimise our use of plastic in villas and on the resorts as a whole.
Instead of serving plastic water bottles in villas, we will replace all bottles with an Electrolux water gallon dispenser. Our goal is to have a 0% waste from plastic bottles.

Plastic one-time use toiletries will be replaced with recycled plastic bottles. Bamboo combs, ear buds and toothbrushes will also be introduced.

We have purchased 100% organic & recyclable bags our goal is to decrease the use of plastic bags by 355.40%

Recycling plastic not only requires large amounts of energy but also uses large quantities of water. This is a primary environmental problem; the production process is a leading cause of carbon emissions contributing to global warming. Karma Kandara is so excited to be reducing the use of plastic we hope you are excited too.
